Aside from being a banker the last dozen years, I am better understood as a husband, father, friend, student, community volunteer, community organizer, artist, writer, and soon teacher. After more than a decade in banking, I decided it was time to go back to university and pursue the career I always wanted.

I was part of a diverse team that drove the expansion of a local credit union in Southern Alberta. Credit Unions live in a different space than banks, and as an employee I was able to grow the not for profit part of our business by communicating how our cooperative model aligns with community good. Through this time, I became more involved in my communities a volunteer and organizer.

I’ve always tried to find ways to build up people and communities whether they are geographical or interest. As a short story writer and member of Imaginative Fiction Writer’s Association of Calgary, I leveraged my skills to organize a team to publish three anthologies. Our success was more than producing physical books, our team was nominated for two Aurora Awards for our work, Canada’s premiere science fiction and fantasy prize.
